Project information

About the project

Bannockburn Oval, a key multi-sport venue featuring an athletics track, synthetic wicket, soccer fields, playground, and clubhouse, is set to receive significant upgrades. Ku-ring-gai Council is undertaking this project to modernise the amenities and club facilities. The improvements will directly benefit the local sports community, including soccer clubs and athletes, as well as general visitors by making the facilities more accessible, safer, and better suited to current needs.

Our goal

To address the limitations of the current outdated amenities and club facilities at Bannockburn Oval, and to ensure compliance with accessibility regulations (DDA compliance), Ku-ring-gai Council is implementing essential upgrades. These improvements are designed to enhance usability for everyone, including players, families, and spectators, and will transform Bannockburn into a truly inclusive and welcoming sporting venue.

Our plan

We have  developed a concept plan for the improvements.

Key features of the upgrade include:

  • New amenities building with accessible changerooms, toilets, canteen and meeting room
  • Additional accessible underground storage for equipment
  • Modern canteen facilities
  • Upgraded accessible pathways

These enhancements aim to create a modern, multi-purpose space for community sports and recreation. Ku-ring-gai Council currently has only one "Changing Places" facility (at St Ives Showground), and this project would introduce a second within the LGA.
