Tree Management
Our design prioritises preserving high-value street trees identified by Council's Consultant Arborist. However, the following trees may require removal or pruning due to their poor condition or project requirements. More details by street:
Halcyon Avenue:
- Outside No. 3: removal of Weeping Bottlebrush (poor specimen under wires with significant lean).
- Outside No. 9: removal of Lilly Pilly (poor specimen under wires with significant lean).
- Outside No. 23: removal of Crab-apple tree near driveway, subject to detailed design and arborist advice (broad low canopy multi-trunked tree under wires, blocking sight lines and footpath access)
Larbert Avenue:
- No tree removals are proposed.
Chilton Parade:
- Outside No 12A: removal of Grevillea spp. (minor specimen in poor condition); and pruning of 2 x Tupelo trees for road works clearance.
- Outside No 12: removal of 3 x Ornamental Pears, subject to detailed desig and arborist advice (due to likely extent of impacts on trees)
- Outside No 13: removal of Jacaranda (minor lopped specimen under wires); and removal of agapanthus groundcover planting along proposed kerb line.
- Outside No 2: Halcyon Ave (Chilton Pde frontage): removal of Weeping Bottlebrush (minor specimen under wires); and pruning of Japanese Maple and Camellia sasanqua for road works clearance.
As part of our commitment to maintaining and improving our urban canopy, a replacement tree planting program using suitable species will be implemented when the project is completed.
Timeline
Construction is scheduled for 2026 / 2027 (financial year), with progressive implementation across all three roads.
